Nancy Bagranoff, professor of accounting, received the 2025 Distinguished Educator Award from the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ at this year's Colloquy. 

Jeff Carlson, associate professor of marketing and department chair, recieved the 2025 Distinguished Educator Award from the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ at this year's Colloquy. 

Tenace Setor, assistant professor of analytics and operations, received the ACM SIGMIS Early Career Award, which recognizes outstanding achievements of researchers and educators as they commence their journey pursuing excellence in the management information systems discipline. Setor's research examines how digital technologies shape IT workforce development, enterprise system adoption, and organizational transformation. 

Art Durnev, distinguished chair in finance, published Modern Money Mechanics, a textbook covering topics from traditional finance fundamentals to modern innovations including investments, cryptocurrency, and NFT valuation.

Amy McCracken, associate dean for graduate programs, was named one of Virginia Business' 2025 Women in Leadership honorees. These awards celebrate top women executives for their overall professional accomplishments, civic engagement, mentorship, and breaking glass ceilings.  

Michel Robe, professor of finance, chaired the CEMA 2025 Scientific Committee held at the Rice School of Business. Robe developed the conference's academic program and presented research on risk premia in agriculture futures markets. Other faculty presentations included Deniz Besik, Nancy Tran, and Art Durnev.  

The Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges recognized Sara Hanson, associate professor of marketing, with the 2024 H. Hiter Harris III Excellence in Instructional Technology Award.

Saif Mehkari, associate professor of economics, received this year's Distinguished Advisor Award from the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ. The award recognizes an advisor's commitment to their students' academic and personal development, demonstrated through work as a support, resource, and advocate. 

Management professor Patricio Duran was awarded the Best Entrepreneurship in Family Business Paper at the International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA) Annual Conference for his research, "Publicly-listed family-controlled firms and corporate venture capital."

Accounting professor Ashley Austin received a grant from accounting firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers to support new research on the use of AI in audits. Austin and her partners at the University of Virginia and University of Georgia will develop strategies to help auditors examine AI-generated financial reports with sufficient skepticism.

Poets&Quants for Undergrads named the business school among the top 10 to watch in 2024. .

Michel A. Robe, Professor of Finance and the Patricia A. and George W. Wellde, Jr. Distinguished Chair in Finance, co-authored a research paper titled "Maximum Order Size and Market Quality" that was published in the Journal of Futures Markets.
